Too funny - he picked Session on his own personal promises and solid backing during the campaign...before he was embroiled in the true ugliness of political backstabbing and incompetence....if you don’t think Trump has learned a thing or two over the last 2 years, then you haven’t been paying attention...when their time comes, his past mistakes are being shuffled out.
Whatever is going on here with this pick, I do not know.
I do know that people expect Trump to have moved into the presidency and turned things around immediately. He might just give up at one point as some suggest but I don’t see that. He has never worked with inside the Beltway people. He has to find dependable people from a group of people-strangers to him- who occupy a system that is so mired in deception that that he could not have, at first, known that a sweet southerner like Sessions could have been so anti constitutionalist, so obstructionist and passive aggressive, I guess compromised, that he would have spent two years keeping the swamp infested.
Trump didn’t see that at first. If he didn’t learn from that tgen I am wrong about him. I don’t think I am. He’s figuring it out.
Isn’t it like a fixer upper house project? One in a different city than the one with which the buyer is familiar. A well-recommended contractor comes in on the project. The owner trusts him and is too busy moving in to the new neighborhood he doesn’t at first notice the contractor is not doing the job. The contractor doesn’t want the old house fixed up. Its a great old house with ‘good bones’. It’s also been vacant of a family for many years. It’s been used by these town leaders to run sleazy, illegal, very lucrative operations.
They don’t care about the out of control tree root undergrowth or the rodent infestation. And they don’t want some powerful, loving, law and order family moving in there messing up their good deal.m
The new owner is motivated to fix up the house, for his family, for his investment, as well as for the town’s future. He is learning which local contractors to trust, but there are very few. He can’t even find good advisors.
The locals want him out of there. He’s upsetting the status quo. They taunt his supportive family.
He’s either going to figure out whom to trust or give up because there is no one to trust.
But figuring out whom to trust will take some time and effort.
Trump and his father renovated the Commodore Hotel. A place with good bones that had rotted in a times squeeze neighborhood that had itself rotted. The town (NYC) didn’t want them to do it. But they did it. Made a lot of money for the Trumps. Which they donated to charity.
We find HG channel interesting. We love to watch try or the twins tear down and refurbish old houses full of rot and decay. It wasn’t always a favorite topic but now it is.
We want this and Trump knows it.
That’s the big picture for me. That and God is above it.
