There are deck boxes you can buy. Screw them down to the porch. As soon as a package is inserted and the lid is closed and a flip of the switch, it’s locked. Can only be opened with a key. Very handy in town where stolen packages are prevelent. Have your package put in your garage, a shed and have your carrier lock the door when they leave. There are many ways to thwart a would be robber. Get creative.

Great idea. Like an oversized mailbox slot. However, we often mail-order large items. Just a few days ago, my wife ordered two carpets, one is a 7-foot roll. Can't build a deck box large enough!
Anyway, she was waiting for the delivery at home when she got a confirmation text that it was delivered at 6pm. WTF, it was only 5pm. She worried that it was stolen by porch pirates. A scan of our security cameras showed no delivery all day. Around 11:30pm we hear a noise on the porch, and there are the two rugs. Looking at the security camera showed a scruffy guy with a hoody dropping off the rug rolls, saw no vehicle. We figured that FedEx outsourced it to a 3rd-party for delivery. Either that, or a thief decided he didn't want our carpets and brought them back. Must be the former, as a thief would not come back.
