A Las Vegas man lost his vision, became partially paralyzed and has been unable to breathe without assistance since getting a flu shot last month.
Shane Morgan and his wife Monique decided to get flu shots on November 2, believing it would help protect them and young family members ahead of the busy holiday season.
But what they thought was a pro-active measure turned to horror when Shane began losing feeling in his arms and legs.
“About 36-hours after he got the flu shot he started to get sick,” Monique explained to KSNV.
“I never dreamed that any of this could ever happen,” Shane told local media.

Doctors at Centennial Hills Hospital diagnosed Shane with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a known vaccine adverse reaction characterized by the CDC as an “autoimmune disorder in which a person’s own immune system damages the nerves, causing muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis.”
Monique blames the flu shot for triggering the adverse reaction, which has left Shane in need of a ventilator and a feeding tube.
“It’s the last time anyone in my family will ever get one,” she said, adding Sha

Ever watch mystery diagnosis? It is a show that is all about arrogant doctors who think they know everything and people suffer because of it. Until the patient finally finds a good doctor who can look beyond their nose. And then the mystery is solved.
So keep living in your delusional world were only you have all the answers and everyone else is ignorant. And only you and your buds can call names, and hurl insults, but no one else has a right to. Because all it shows is who you really are.

Yeah. But the flu shot worked. This is why I support everyone getting the flu shot... except me, my family, and friends. Other than that, everyone should get one.
After all, if everyone else gets vaccinated, my chance of getting sick goes down.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of vaccinations. Maybe there is justification for some, but I generally oppose any mandatory vaccinations.

As far back as the 70s, my aunt got a “swine flu” shot, which made her seriously ill.

They've both since recovered but it took a long time......
My brother had a stroke the day after he had a flu shot. He recovered, and we are thankful. No more flu shots though.

As one of those who received the first oral polio vaccine I am very grateful for vaccines. I had a HS classmate who had polio, so it hit home pretty well.
However, like many things, the nanny state allied with the medical / pharmaceutical industries has gone to excesses which are detrimental rather than beneficial.
I am somewhat surprised (actually, no I am not) that another FReeper has gone postal nasty on me, accusing me of being some sort of anti vaccine Luddite - and not in a civil manner. The issue is not all one extreme or the other.
