If a wall stopped just 200,000 of those future crossings, Camarota says, it would pay for itself in fiscal savings from welfare, public education, refundable tax credits and other benefits currently given to low-income, illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America.
If a wall stopped 50 percent of those expected crossings, he says, it would save American taxpayers a whopping $64 billion — almost four times the wall’s cost — to say nothing of the additional billions in federal savings from reduced federal drug interdiction and border-security enforcement.
Many Americans lost their closest emergency rooms because of this phenomenon; my town here in NJ did. So many illegals showing up for “doctor visits” in the ER that the hospital shut down. It still functions as some kind of medical facility, but not a hospital - and certainly no ER. Now Americans have to travel further to an ER, and only arrive to find it packed with even more illegals using it for “doctor visits”. The state requires treatment for them, continually reduces the reimbursement to the facilities, and the facilities close; these illegals don’t intend to pay for ANYTHING.
A few months ago we were treated to the spectacle of hordes of foreign children receiving “free” school supplies (actually bought by the paying customers); now we’ll see the same children lining up for “free” toys and meals - again, courtesy of US.
It is no accident they are trafficked to dying, high-cost areas; 150 years ago these places would have reverted to ghost towns, but our entrenched public worker caste wants to gravy train to roll on - so we pretend there is still reason for people to live in these sh!tholes. The government is artificially preventing the Detroitification of many urban areas and the closest suburbs by transferring wealth from American taxpayers to a foreign permanent underclass.
