There ought to be an index measuring the degree of Leftist leadership that holds power in a given country or region. The higher the index, the more power the Left has. IMHO there would be a high correlation with human misery and a high Leftist index.

The correlation between leftist government and misery is cause for that government to increase its authority, arguing that misery must be wrung out of society by the implementation of government wringers squeezing the populas into ever more confining quarters. Only when the misery index stands at 100% can true equity be achieved.
You can use population density as a general proxy for a leftist index. The higher the density the more the leftism, which is evidence of causation. You can't concentrate nature's most deadly creature into a small area and expect good results.
