When I moved to CC in 1995, I lived about 3 miles from NASCC in Flour Bluff. Work there often on different projects. Currently have a project at NAS Kingsville, will be there tomorrow. Love our military! Moved inland 40 miles, because sitting on the porch watching every thing rust got old. Cars sitting in driveways and metal house materials would rust on the east facing side due to the salty air from constant easterly winds off the Laguna Madre, the second saltiest body of water in the US. Also odor of rotting seaweed (you get used to it they say LOL).
AND...Hurricanes too.
