The newspaper said an immigration enforcement agent was in the courtroom to detain Medina-Perez, but the Dominican Republic native was let out through a back door.

I remember that episode.

Amen to that!

There was an incident similar to that in Portland, OR some months back and I don’t think a thing happened to the judge.

I think you may be confusing it to a similar incident in Portland Oregon. In that instance the judicial qualifications commission ruled that the judge did nothing wrong.

I'm no lawyer, but that sounds like being an accessory after the fact.
