I have French expat acquaintances. All are professionals - doctors, engineers, accoutants. All lament the state of present-day France - crime, immigration, taxes, sanitation, etc... None would send their children back to school or to live with relatives there.
Yet they all repeat the same typical leftist slogans - EU good! trump bad! Immigration good! Climate change bad!
They are all walking contradictions and full of cognitive dissonance. I guess its typically French. And I find that very annoying.
This is the biggest uprising in France since the student protests of 1968 that saw the downfall of President De Gaulle.
The Fifth Republic he founded is in crisis.
Collectivists have a zillion excuses for every failed idea. You could sooner convert a jihadi to Christianity than get them to wake TF up.
Some things never change.

(Monty Python, of course!)
More seriously, have you ever asked them (especially the engineers) to analyze how France got where it is now?
Leftists come in two stripes by my reckoning-They’re either too stupid to understand cause and effect, or they do “get it”, but are so afraid of Free Markets and Liberty that it scares them.
