Sometime between 2000-2001 I was listening to the classical station down in South Jersey and this - or some other - piece played - it might have been called “Band Practice” or something.
It started out like the 5th Grade Beginning Orchestra/Band, and gradually built up to a full on symphony. It was fun, creative, touching ....
I’m an old School Band and Orchestra Geek, and played the drums, cello and double bass until nerve damage in my hands stopped me playing in my late 20’s.
Anyway, that was the only time I ever heard this piece and have obviously never forgotten it. I’ve looked and asked since then with no reply.
When I heard whatever it was today on Rush I got so excited! If he said what it was I missed it. And I still can’t find it. :)
