My mom had one of those. It was a Boston Terrier and everyone hated it. You couldn’t get close to her without it trying to bite you. My friend has one that is a chihuahua. The most obnoxious little chit you’ve ever seen.
Yeah, obnoxious dogs abound.
We have a cross breed dog that is nuts. Hyperactive. Can’t break her from jumping on top of people. She’s a 50 pounder that thinks like she weighs 5 lbs. So when people are here I cage her. They always say....oh I love dogs, let her out. I refuse. If she can’t behave she doesn’t get the pleasure of being around people.

Have you tried a spray bottle with water? A spritz to the face seems to stop a lot of unwanted behaviors quickly. If that works, maybe enlist a friend or two to help by bringing the bottle in the house with them and squirting her when she starts to jump.

I admire you for sticking to your guns rearding caging her. When people put their dogs outside, in another room, or in a kennel for my visits, I make a point of thanking them. More dog owners than not show consideration. Unfortunately the near-misses are what you notice most.

My parents’ dog was a chihuahua.
