I remember seeing “NO mas mordida” bumper stickers back in the early 90s but it’s stronger than ever thanks to the cartels.Something that ingrained in Mexican culture will not go away easily.

Mexico used to be a very safe country. I lived there for three years in the late 70's-early 80's and I never was afraid to travel even into the desert or into poor neighborhoods. And I don't look at all Mexican. I went all over and was frequently alone and never felt in danger.
