I suspect the insults from Macron on Veteran’s Day and Merkel’s lastest bleating about an EU army were the last straws for POTUS. I expect POTUS will have near zero interest in European matters going forward since he gets beat up no matter what he does.

That is the goal. In case you haven’t noticed the current crop of black robed tyrants are the ones up-ending this country. That will change.

He is up against the full force of government,media,culture and all enemies of the USA (as founded). The GOP is riding it out until POTUS Trump is gone. Wishful thinking. Time will tell but I already have my doubts they are MAGA judges. More likely just more careerist RINO judges who will carry water for big business. The CNN judge certainly does not inspire confidence.

The big picture is the EU has flipped the bird at POTUS for two years straight and Trump is tired of it. They chose to insert themselves in domestic US politics and now he is signalling his disinterest in European issues.
Its also the playbook they used on Bush. Bush didn’t even challenge them with words...Trump fights back vigorously with words. But I just don’t think he understood the nature of his Stalinist enemy here. He’s a builder and a deal maker. He thought they were just incompetent and stupid. In fact, they are totalitarians who will do anything to achieve their ends. He didn’t believe, I think, that they were intentionally trying to destroy the country and everyone in it who might oppose them. And in this he has underestimated them greatly.
He’s tried valiantly to re-establish the American tradition...but we are very far beyond that now.
I’ve felt for several years that Germany..the so called EU is an enemy. As in WWI and WWII
