Why are autonomous cars necessary?
*Someone* will have the power to override the computer, but that someone will not be the driver. Maybe some Antifa-google employee? Maybe he’ll be making decisions about where I can go?
Imagine an airplane with autopilot, but no controls for the actual professionals flying it. So the pilot on board, who has a stake in the plane getting safely to its destination, won’t be on board.
The whole scenario is anti-freedom, and potentially terrifying.

autonomous cars sound like more prog scat. Urban delivery vehicles sound promising. Over the road vehicles will have to proven safer than those with a driver to be economically viable (factor in insurance and liability case costs).
