Racial slurs, threats of violence, and terrorism-related posts would be considered "good cause for the denial of a license"
A Brooklyn state senator is calling for a change to New York's gun laws, which would allow authorities to search social media when you apply for a handgun license.
The bill, introduced by State Senator Kevin Parker on November 14, would mandate social media and search engine reviews prior to approval of an application or renewal of a license.
Racial slurs, threats of violence, and terrorism-related posts would be considered "good cause for the denial of a license".
The bills appeared to come in response to recent mass shootings whose suspects posted threats or ranted about potential targets.
What happens if one doesn’t have a
social media history?
Then you must be hiding something ...
Yep. I’m hiding my fear that my social
media comments might be used against me.
Framers of the U.S. Constitution obviously had this in mind: “...shall not be infringed”, unless posting on Facebook.
Investigating social media for racist slurs and hate speach? Wow this is going to hit Blacks, Hispanics and Democrat politicians a lot harder than anyone else!
