I just posted this, on another thread....needs to be on this thread, as well....

GM’s Overtly Political Move To Eliminate Ohio And Michigan Jobs In Order To Hurt Trump’s 2020 Chances

It’s not just that current General Motors CEO Mary Barra owes her high-paying position to former President Barack Obama, (The Obama administration had largely taken over GM with a highly-controversial taxpayer-funded multi-billion dollar bailout) or that she was on Hillary Clinton’s short list of potential 2016 Vice Presidential candidates, but that she is also largely controlled by the market influence of America’s #1 economic enemy – China. That’s right, China is likely the one behind the now-threatened closure of some of GM’s Ohio and Michigan manufacturing plants as the Establishment Media ramps up its “Blame Trump” coverage just days away from the president’s scheduled sit-down with China leader, Xi Jinping. Mary Barra appears willing to watch the destruction of American jobs in order to earn political points with her true master – China. ....

The above contains an excerpt from this Washington Times article...

Trump urges GM to close plants in China instead of Ohio

...On the same day that GM announced layoffs of up to 14,000 workers at as many as five plants in North America, including Michigan and Ohio, Mr. Trump told reporters he had a stern phone call with CEO Mary Barra in which he reminded her of taxpayers’ $80 billion bailout of the auto industry in 2008.

“The United States saved General Motors, and for her to take that company out of Ohio is not good,” Mr. Trump said. “I am not happy with what she did. They better get back to Ohio and soon. I was very tough when I spoke to her.”...

...The decision to halt production at the GM plant in Lordstown, Ohio, and its Hamtramck facility in Michigan are a blow to the states’ economies. And it could affect the re-election prospects for Mr. Trump, who won two years ago by capturing both states and has made big promises to those communities about his policies creating a resurgent American auto industry....

All a devious plot, by the Dims/GM for the 2020 elections.

Evil minions willing to sacrifice American jobs, for their sick agenda.

I still have my 1995 Saturn SC2 and my 1999 Saturn SW2. Reliable and inexpensive to insure, drive and maintain, I intend to keep and drive them until parts are no longer available.

Interesting. Have you sent that to the White House?

“generator”

You are obtuse.

I was not ‘shouting’, BTW.

Caps are also used for emphasis, a subtlety lost on one so bereft of mechanical knowledge.

I tried good naturedly to help you understand the mechanics behind a hybrid, but it was, clearly to naught.

Best of luck to you in your future!

Local taxes are not deductible like they used to be on the federal return.

So for many people and companies, that is a significant tax hike.

Yep. I owned a little 4-door, manual transmission (5 speed) Metro sedan. I can attest it DID get 45 mpg. Loved that little car! Somebody’s still driving it because I will occasionally see it being driven in the neighborhood. I know it’s the one we used to own because of distinctive toothmarks on the emergency brake lever where my son’s teething Weimananer chewed on it, lol.

My brother owned one of the earlier model 3 cylinder GEOs. Got good gas milage, but the acceleration left much to be desired - you didn't pull any fast moves with it.

BTW, in college I owned a 1985 naturally aspirated VW Jetta diesel 5 speed, 48 horsepower. It got a consistant 50-55 mpg. Top speed with a tail wind = 85mph. Made it from Detroit to Marquette on one 13 gallon tank of gas.

For some, with higher taxes and/or valuations, and they either know that voting Demwits back in won’t improve things, or they live in states like California which won’t fall to Trump anyway.

Like Ohio, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin? Did you see how many purple states just went blue? Tax increases will NOT help the GOP.

When BO sent bus loads of ACORN employees to intimidate bondholders out of their rights our family ended our lifelong GM relationship.
