MI6 chiefs are secretly battling Donald Trump to stop him publishing classified information linked to the Russian election meddling investigation.
The UK is warning that the US president would undermine intelligence gathering if he releases pages of an FBI application to wiretap one of his former campaign advisers.
However Trump allies are fighting back, demanding transparency and asking why Britain would oppose the move unless it had something to hide.

My thoughts are that of course they both were—which is what they are still trying to keep hidden. Guys like Halper were actually operatives for both and certainly paid handsomely by the US through the election cycle. Whatever the else for?
The claim to wanting to keep sources and methods hidden is presumably precisely based on all the official requests for Five Eyes spying, etc., with the argument being that the British operatives who carried out the requests shouldn’t be exposed — or we can’t expect any cooperation from them or others like them in the future.

I HATE those liars of the MSM (including many on Fox News) more than I could ever disdain anything or anyone else in the world.
As a 72 year old guy who has closely observed politics for over 55 years, I strangely sounded here to myself like the great old character actor Sherriff in Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.
When the two guys came to see the Sheriff, feeling about completely trapped, they asked to make a deal. The grizzled old sheriff in the nicest way he could said: "Your times is over, and you're gonna die bloody! And all you can do is choose where."
