You are reading it completely backwards. The automation was faulty and trying to fly the aircraft into the ground. The pilot and copilot were countering that action by the control system. The pilot and copilot failed to disengage the faulty automatic control system that was diving the plane to the ground.

Ok, now I understand what you are saying. I feel sure the investigators should not be blinded by political correctness and overlook any possible causes of the crash. I know that domestic investigators would not overlook anything.

The accident history of the Boeing 737 is posted in Wiki. There are many more accidents outside the US than in CONUS. I pointed this out to a friend when we were discussing the most recent crash, and he said "What are you implying"? I think he was thinking I was casting aspersions upon Asian piloting skills, which I was not doing. I was simply stating a fact.
