That's because the best way to get rich in America today is to tap into the vast river of money and power controlled by government.”

I cannot speak for the rest of the country, but here in Maryland and in nearby Northern Virginia, the wealthy counties and Congressional Districts are the ones with a high proportion of government employees, and the civilian cohorts (such as lobbyists) which depend on the presence of the government agencies for their employment. Naturally, the people in those districts vote for their economic interests.
