A mother who scaled the U.S.-Mexico border fence near the San Ysidro Port of Entry Friday night fell and was impaled by pieces of rebar, Border Patrol said Saturday.
The 26-year-old Guatemalan woman was with her two children, ages 3 and 5, when she crossed illegally, said Border Patrol Agent Tekae Michael. She told agents she was not part of the massive migrant caravan camped out in Tijuana, Michael said.
Border Patrol arrived to render medical aid about 8:25 p.m. and requested assistance from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. She was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It really IS the humane thing to do. These folks getting ripped off by the smugglers. Dying in the desert. Sometimes almost slave labor in the USA, and fear of the police all the time.
The difference between you and I is that I've seen more murderers...and murder victims...than you've had hot dinners.That ugly,ugly,ugly experience has shaped my attitude on many things...including our southern border.Actually,*all* our borders.
Walk in my shoes and I'd bet everything I own that you'd feel pretty much the same.
Instead, I would have preferred that our Border Patrol call the Mexican equivalent of 9-1-1.

The story was promising when the word “impaled” was in the headline...
They make rubber/plastic guards to prevent such injuries. The guard is placed on the top of the exposed rebar.
Please try to understand that under no circumstances do I wish any one harm.
The fact remains the same for me and that is I don’t care!
Maybe it’s time for these people to stand up and fight for the freedoms they want in their home counties instead of trying to achieve them on the backs of hard working American citizens.
