I’m sure that is true. Had a good friend in NM who came from Upstate NY. She owned an import/export business on Long Island. She describe it to me and it must be beautiful.

Her father was in the wire and cable manufacturing business for long time. He owned Simplex wire and cable.

They were good people.

Upstate NY and downstate NY are very different.

Earliest I could find for my kin folk was an immigrant from Denmark around 1630 to the Hudson Valley area of NY. My dad was from a small town on the Hudson River. It is pretty country, now ruined by Libs. Kinfolk spinning.

Long Island is not upstate NY. Unless you mean she was from upstate before she went to long island.
