Then why did they go to war to preserve it?

Repeat the lie, repeat the lie, repeat the lie.

Why did the Union go to war to keep slave states in it?

If I lie in the manner that you do, I would say "Why did the Union want to keep the slave states? "

Why was the Union trying to preserve the slave states remaining in it?

See how this sort of lying works?

That lies are embedded we can be certain. This is why the Civil War is so strangely controversial. Because lies were inserted into the history books to protect the reputation of the democrats.

Our biggest mistake is not questioning the history books. Maybe due to being intimidated by progressivist “scholars.” Maybe just apathy or laziness.

It’s time to reject what we’ve been told.

It seems the larger narrative, the level most people focus on, is where the lie sits.
Questions of how many slave states the union had, or questions about who outlawed slavery when are important. But the larger view has been the target of the left. They have deceived us.

The takeaway point is what matters most because it has the greatest impact: that the democrats were the party of slavery and the republicans were the party of abolition.

Dinesh D’Souza has done research which corrects the falsehoods.

There is no doubt that the South fought the War to preserve slavery. You get into the realm of quacks and fanatics to believe any other reason was significant.

It’s fear of the North’s growing power led to the conclusion that already a minority it would become even more so and decided to fight.

George Washington’s Farewell Address warned of the designing men who would urge secession. That was the main point of the address.
