REPUBLIC, Wash. Loren Culp, the police chief in Republic, pop. 1,100, recently got a big shout-out from Ted Nugent, the Cat Scratch Fever rocker who these days is also known for his gun-rights and conservative views, and calls himself the Motor City Madman.
The reason for the shout-out was that Culp announced he wasnt going to enforce Initiative 1639, the strict state gun-law measure passed Nov. 6.

Only tyrants and fascists would enforce such “gun laws”.
We need to support people who take a stand like this Chief and encourage more to be as brave.
From the Article.
>>>Kramers teenage son was injured in a 2016 Mukilteo house-party shooting that left three others dead. The shooter in that instance was a 19-year-old who bought an AR-15 rifle about a week before the attack.
An 18- to 20-year-old can legally purchase a firearm, he says. But with I-1639, They cant legally purchase a semi-automatic weapon, just like they cant legally purchase a handgun. Theyre still able to purchase a bolt-action, pump-action, slide-action shotgun.<<<
So, when someone uses a Pump Action Shotgun (the Biden Rule) to murder People, will the new Initiative be named I-1640? I wasn’t aware that Ballot Initiatives can overturn Individual Constitutional Rights, unless Mob Rule is back in style?
This is the second gun law passed by referendum in Washington that wont be enforced. The first one was mandatory registration for all firearm transactions. I havent bought a gun from a private party in decades but I hear its universally ignored.
Sorry but I have to disagree. You are either a believer in the “rule of law” or you are not. Regardless of how ridiculous, unconstitutional or dangerous a law is in your mind it must be followed until such time as it becomes not law.
We can hardly chastise the other side for failing to follow or enforce the laws on the books when we ourselves are willing to follow suit when confronted with a particular law we disagree with.
I disagree .
OK, so you are not an adherent to the “rule of law?
The Declaration of Independence seemed to not advocate the then current rule of law. Am I missing something there ?
So if a law is passed that says round up the Christians and put them in cattle cars for the gas chambers we should enforce said law?
Blackstone disagrees with you by the way.
[The law of nature] being coeval with mankind and dictated by God Himself, is of course superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity, if contrary to this; and such of them as are valid derive all their force, and all their authority, mediately or immediately, from this original.
“All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void.” Marbury vs. Madison
Marbury v. Madison
The decision concluded a law repugnant to the Constitution is void, and courts, as well as other departments, are bound by that instrument.- Chief Justice John Marshall.
Expect this patriotic resistance to spread.
The Pinkos sowed the wind with their refusal to enforce Pro-American laws.
Now they can reap he whirlwind as Americans decline to enforce anti-American laws.
“able to purchase a bolt-action”
WW2 era Mosins, Mausers, Enfields, ‘03 Springfields will do just as much damage with practice.
Good to know that the day a law is passed requiring all of us to get chipped and turn in our guns you’ll be a compliant sheep.
I applaud him.
Will he be employed next week?
Slavery was 100% constitutional and a most evil thing. Based on your logic Abraham Lincoln should have just looked the other way and said, "slavery is okay."
He did not and actually acted in an unconstitutional manner. Was he wrong based on your logic?
In reality Lincoln should have approached this via constitutional amendment before the war. If he did such the greatest loss in war of American lives would have not happened. If one looks at the population of the United States then as compared to today the percentage of losses by both side union and confederate were horrific.
Oddly Lincoln was rather racist and considered negros inferior though he abhorred slavery. Cut and past the link below about Lincoln and trying to send free slaves back to Liberia.

Lincoln was no hero. Lincoln did preserve The Union and this is the only damn thing he did of merit.
ps Arlington Cemetery was the old home and plantation of Robert E Lee. It was chosen as a burial ground for Union Soldiers during the Civil War. Today Union Soldiers and Confederate Soldier lay in the same ground by choice. Once again brothers in arms. It is sacred ground
Leftists are really horrible people.

The “rule of law” is the antithesis of your reasoning. And btw Matthew 22:21 Jesus said “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.”
You can’t have it both ways. You must adhere to the “rule of law” and work tirelessly to change the bad or unjust ones as conservatives have though out the ages espoused or pick and choose which laws you will abide and others not as is so common on the left.
‘All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void. Marbury vs. Madison’All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void. Marbury vs. Madison
‘
Absolutely correct and that was stated by the Supreme Court who in the constitution have been designated the arbiters of what laws which are “repugnant to the Constitution”
Not the average Joe who decides on his own or with others which laws are or are not constitutional.
