Nearly a year ago, Democrats pulled off an upset in the South against a Republican candidate hobbled by controversy. Now, theyre hoping to duplicate that feat in Mississippi, in the last Senate election of the cycle.
Virtually no prognosticator has given the party much of a chance. But this past week, the Republican in the race, Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), has been caught twice making wild and insensitive remarks: the first expressing comfort attending a public hanging; the second openly musing about suppressing Democratic votes. All of which has encouraged the party to rethink whether the long shot Democrat in the race, former U.S. secretary of agriculture Mike Espy, is really that big a long shot at all.

My daughter went to Ole Miss and taught for a short time in a Mississippi Elem School. Being from the NE, she felt the people in MS were the nicest people in the US.The parents were very dedicated and hard working as well.there is a strong sense of community in MS.
“Besides, it still doesnt take away your constant stereotyping of everyone else.”
And just what is it that you are doing in each and every post? I readily admit that today CA is a $hit hole. Besides, it’s fun “poking political hornet’s nests!” So many of our states have no idea just how close they are to turning blue. There was a time when I could have sworn California would always be a Conservative stronghold. And here the f*cking worthless Republicans actually cooperated with the RATS making themselves essentially extinct.
Roy Moore was and is a great choice for Senate.
I suppose you hate Trump for all the same reasons, right, NeverTrumper?
How close is Indiana to “turning blue?” It just elected a republican supermajority to its legislature.
“Roy Moore was and is a great choice for Senate.
I suppose you hate Trump for all the same reasons, right, NeverTrumper?”
Roy Moore is a religious nutcake! There is something not right with him and very young women. And I absolutely love and support Donald J. Trump. How in the world can you equate Roy Moore with Donald Trump?
What the Daily Beast does is NOT journalism. It’s propaganda with an agenda, pure and simple.
This is a MS special election; most of the rules in place in MS for such elections also apply elsewhere, including TX and LA.
Thinking Mike Espy would be “better” for Mississippi or the nation is complete stupidity. That’s like saying Joe Donnelly voting 90% with the democrats for six years was “good” for Indiana or Doug Jones voting against Kavanaugh was in any way the will of the people of Alabama.
“How close is Indiana to turning blue? It just elected a republican supermajority to its legislature.”
Evidently it’s safe for the present. How close is Texas to “turning blue?” It has four major population centers that are all RAT-run. And it has two layers of “Mexican RAT-run” counties along the Rio Grande. Give Beto another chance ( like running against Cornhole) and he just may be successful. Particularly if the RAT vote fraud machine gets a little more tuning. The basic truth as I see it today, is that the major population centers are going, by their growth, to prevail across the country. And while Indiana may not be on as steep a slope as some other places, they are at risk. I’d like to be wrong, believe me, but here on the Left Coast, all the states are in the same pickle. CA, OR, WA, NV and now maybe even AZ are being controlled by their population centers. I will bet you that Paradise, CA didn’t vote RAT! I will bet you that Butte County isn’t a RAT stronghold. Paradise was mostly a retirement community with a lot of ex-military folks living there, that thanks to Jerry Brown and the RATs, are now just mixed in the ashes of their former homes.
Southern Oregon wants to join with Northern California and form a New State. We will see the Balkanization of America as the outcome of the current political war being waged across this country.
San Diego still has a republican mayor last I checked and, were it not for vote fraud, Carl DeMaio would be in the house. All your post about population centers proves is we have to get hypervigilant about stopping voter fraud and ending the sell-out of our country to cheap labor. It CERTAINLY doesn’t mean we should turn on our own candidates because they dare talk about hangings so we can send more Espys and Sinemas to Washington who will gleefully kowtow to the cheap labor express every day they are there.
Her vote is not needed for any practical probability.
Not for confirmations.
And we are nowhere near 60 votes to break legislative filibuster so she can’t help there.
Whether she would be better than Espy is a moot point. Her vote is not needed.
My other point in bringing up Indiana is we are killing it, as a party, in the suburbs and population centers there. Indianapolis has a republican mayor and, while the national media breathlessly reports Rs losing House seats in Orange and DuPage counties, they completely ignore the fact that republicans INCREASED the size of the Indiana House delegation from the Indy suburbs, including sending Vice President Pence’s brother to the House. Not everything is bad. We have to look at the real picture and the democrat media, especially the Daily Beast, is NOT going to give it to us.
And we will NEVER get to 60 with that kind of thinking. Why help the rats create another Corey Booker to attack our judges in confirmation hearings? This is backward thinking at its best.
If some smartie in the national party was paying attention, he would look at cities like San Diego and Indianapolis where republicans win locally and nationally and try to bottle what politicians like Kevin Faulconer do and apply it to other population centers where, there’s no doubt, we’re losing badly. Of course, no one in the RNC will do that. They’re too busy giving Dana PeRINO and Chris Stirewalt’s friends jobs and telling us we have to “do healthcare” because being democrat-lite is what will totally get us to win. Sure, fata$$ Stirewalt. Whatever you say. Jerk.
Look, voters in MS, all of you. Judge Roy Moore lost his
Alabama Senate race simply because he was a lousy candidate...riding around on that silly horse of his on the days right before election when he should have been campaigning 24/7/365.
As for Chris McDaniel, I like him big time, but...he had his chance in the election and came up short. Game over!!!
So....remember this Folks...you got two choices and only two choices to vote for in this upcoming run-off election Democrat, Crook, Mike Espy or, Republican, Trump/McDaniel supported and backed candidate, Republican, Ms. Cindy Hyde-Smith!!!
Out great leader, POTUS, Donald J. Trump is headed for two (2) massive Hyde-Smith political rallies in Tupelo & Biloxi, MS on Monday, November 26, 2018, the day before the runoff election. Make sure you attend...if possible.
And...by all means on election runoff day, make sure you absolutely get out and vote for Cindy Hyde-Smith for U.S. Senate. Chris McDaniels supports her, POTUS, Trump supports her...you all should support her...we need that Senate seat!!!
Don’t listen to the naysayers on this and other sites....they are neither friends or allies to our cause. They have cost us Senate seats in Alabama, Arizona, Wisconsin, Montana, etc.!!! Don’t make the same mistake...”Useless” Democrat, Mike Espy belongs in the trash can of forever obscurity...period!!!
Vote for Hyde-Smith, Go, POTUS, Trump, Go, GOP, Go GOTV, Go, Trump MEGA rallies, Go, Trump MAGA rallies!!!
Yes, as usual the ‘purists’ would rather the Democrat win to get back at the ‘establishment’, even though we need every GOP Senator to accomplish Trump’s agenda.
But the Democrat is somehow better for the Trump agenda?
It would be like gifting the democrats another Fartacus or Ugandan Giant to grandstand and drop the race card at will.
