It will continue next year with enlarged GOP control of the Senate.

McTurtle can push judicial nominations through in 2019. Another SCOTUS vacancy could open up as well.

What’s not to like?

"Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), a member of the panel, praised Flake’s tactics, saying he has “struck at the heart of the Republican agenda.”"

Thanks to Dickie Durbin for confirming (what we all know) that Jeff Flake is a vile worthless POS masquerading as a "conservative".....

"infuriating Democrats and their allies who are powerless to stop Trump’s picks."

Sweet, sweet music to my ears!

"Republicans expect McConnell to barrel through more nominations before Dec. 14, the chamber’s target date to wrap up their work for the year."

Why go home on Dec. 14? They don't need to go home to campaign. Keep them there until Jan. 2 and get more judges confirmed! Lazy louts!

It’s not exactly a showdown if one side is powerless.

About as much of a showdown as if I have a shotgun and a couple of friends with AR-15s and you’ve got a rubber band pistol.

Republicans have the Senate. Ned of subject.

With Flakey Flucking Jeff Fake determined to be a petulant little brat spoiler, it isn’t going to be easy.

So good luck with that.

Flake will not matter shortly. We will have 52, perhaps 53 Senators, meaning the Three Cuckateers will no longer have nearly as much input.

And,

And Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who’s expected to take over as Judiciary Committee chairman next year, pledged that he would work to confirm conservative judges if colleagues pick him to lead the panel. “If I am fortunate enough to be selected by my colleagues to serve as chairman, I will push for the appointment and Senate confirmation of highly qualified conservative judges to the federal bench,” Graham said.

Graham is singing the right song. If he stays on the lyrics sheet, this could be a damned good two years.

Flake said. “There’s a circuit court judge that I helped get nominated that we would like to see on the 9th Circuit. She’s noncontroversial...

There are no "non-controversial nominations" anymore (unless, of course, they happen to lean liberal), thus exposing the complete idiocy of the soon-to-be ex-Senator Flaky Flake...

NO. That happens next year.
The important goal for Mitch is to adjourn the Senate at least 10 days before the next session starts so Trump can make recess appointments.
Mitch MUST do that.

All these Judges can be confirmed early next year.

There is no showdown.

Trump was elected to conserve the USA.

Done.

Communist Dems can get bent.

Well guess it is time for the ‘Why should we have to ‘work’ when everyone else is off’ crowd to sound off.

MAYBE if they had been doing THEIR JOB the last couple of years they wouldn’t be in this fix.

Also look forward to JAN2 when the R Congresscritters ‘grow some spine’ and threaten all sorts of crap that they know won’t get through.

Why ANY of them that ran for the last 4-6 years on rescinding BOSCARE are still there just show what a bunch of jerks a good number of voters are.

The candidates lied knowing BO would do nothing then when PDT took them up on it, they stabbed him in the back.

Everyone one of the lying SOBs should be out looking for a REAL JOB....

These clowns come in without two (of their own) nickels to rub together and leave in 8-10 years millionaires THEN have the unmitigated gall to claim they are ‘public service’ and claim they dedicated their life to ‘the People’.

HOGWASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May your Christmas stockings be filled with coal and Horse Apples....

But Democrats are powerless to stop Trump’s nominees on their own after they went nuclear in 2013 and lowered the 60-vote filibuster for most nominations to a simple majority.

Thank you Harry Reid. President Trump, and his deplorable supporters, appreciate your assistance in Making America Great Again. [/sarc]

“The push to re-take control of our courts”

If Trump served all 8 years, he could only appoint less than a third of the 870 judges. The courts are irreparably corrupt and illegitimate just like our fed govt.

Judges are a long term solution, anyways. We don’t have long term. Besides, if the judiciary is given this much power in our constitutional republic, we might as well turn out the lights...

They sure don't do showdowns the way they used to.

What is the deal with all the postings from left wing “The Hill”. For the first 14 years I’ve been on this forum there would be maybe 2 postings a week from this left wing rag. For the last few months however, there have been at least half a dozen postings per day.

Have we all of the sudden given a new found credence to their left of center positions. “The Hill”, Roll Call, Weekly Standard etc. have all been around for decades yet posters seem to feel only “The Hill” is worthy of multiple daily postings.

Enquiring minds want to know.
