Following a protracted recount battle, three-term incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson conceded Sunday, acknowledging GOPGov. Rick Scott has been elected to replace him in January.
Well, things worked out a little differently than Grace and I had hoped, Mr. Nelsons statement read. But let me say, I by no measure feel defeated. And thats because I have had the privilege of serving the people of Florida and our country for most of my life.
As he left the political stage, Mr. Nelson, 76, also took a parting shot at President Trump.
We have to move beyond a politics that aims not just to defeat but to destroy, Mr. Nelsons said. Where truth is treated as disposable, where falsehoods abound, and the free press is assaulted as the enemy of the people.

The press isn’t free; it’s a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party.
I read Nelson’s quote. That was not President Trump that he was referring to, it sounded more like a Clinton and the Democrat Party.
The sooner him and Ted Kennedy are celebrating old times, the happier I will be.
I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a separate retirement check for his years as a Congressman.
So did Joe Crowley!
“and the free press is assaulted as the enemy of the people’”
Our press is the average citizen’s eyes into the larger world including our government. If our press is malfunctioning like a sensor is alleged to have malfunctioned in the Lion Air crash, then if the press isn’t behaving like an enemy, what is an enemy?
LOL. Projection, projection, projection. Those are precisely the politics that the left has pursued at least since the Vietnam War protests (and possibly much earlier).
Like when he said that the Russians had infiltrated their elections systems?
That’s a lie. Nelson said it.
Blue Election Fraud
Bill Nelson: "That no good Trump. If he had not campaigned in this race I might have had a chance."
Well.......bye.
Can’t beat somebody with nobody.
And soon-to-be-former Senator Bill Nelson was about as much of a nobody as there was around.
Now that Rick Scott, he finished school, did his homework, took on some successful gigs, and made himself into somebody.
And now with you out of The Senate Mr Nelson, we have taken a step in that direction. Good riddance!
The "astronaut" will suffer a painful re-entry into the real life as he discovers 'no influence = no money'.
You're "Over and Out", 'Shuttlecock Nelson'.
Make no mistake: The Democrats are already planning their 2020 election strategy. It will involve massive voter fraud. Unless the entire voting system is overhauled, the corruption removed from it, and measures are taken to prevent voter fraud in the future, they will get away with it. They know this. They are preparing.
I just spoke with Senator Bill Nelson, who graciously conceded, and I thanked him for his years of public service, Mr. Scott said.
There is nothing gracious about Nelson.
Goodbye, Mr. Election Fraud Failure. You will always be remembered as one of the corrupt officials of Florida’s Democrats.
Go have a “Whining Tour II” but... good riddance anyways.
Bill and Teds Hot Foot Adventure.
Jackfruit...
Kudos to Senator-elect Scott. He epitomizes (at least here) an old adage my grandfather taught me: "Just because someone doesn't act like a gentleman doesn't mean you shouldn't be one".
I'm not a Floridian but I would be happy to have him represent me over the two "ladies" who are my Senators, the lovely but confused Dianne Feinstein and the loud mouth know-nothing, Kamala "not the Ugandan Giant" Harris.
