Massachusetts never has earthquakes and millions of acres of our scenery are not known to burn to ashes on a regular basis.
And gasoline is $2.67 a gallon in suburban Boston.
“Massachusetts never has earthquakes...”

Ironically, today is the anniversary of an earthquake that occurred off the coast of Cape Ann, Massachusetts on November 18, 1755. That earthquake damaged hundreds of buildings in Boston. It was believed to be between 6.0 and 6.3 on the Richter scale. Imagine the havoc it would have created had it occurred today instead of in 1755.
I also remember when the FEMA director who served in the Reagan Administration made the comment “Boston has the same earthquake risk as Los Angeles.”
While earthquakes in the Boston area are not outside the realm of possibilities, I had a raised eyebrow when I heard that comment. And, I was living in California at the time.
