When we lived in Northern CA, CalFire imposed a “fire fee” on our property as it was considered “rural”.
Many of us called it an illegal tax as we never voted or agreed to this.It went to court. We never got our money back.
I see Moonbeam suspended this in 2017, “for the time being”.
