It's very humbling to lose and I hope he learns from it," McCain, whose late husband, Sen. John McCain, sparred regularly with Trump, told CBS News. She said she hopes the midterm results will take Trump "back to basics."
"I hope he learns from it and realizes that our country needs a strong leader and not a negative Nancy, if I can put it in such a basic term," she said. "We need our president. We need a White House that's strong, we need a White House that's not sparring with each other. And right now I think we're -- things are in disarray, and I would hope through this that he does learn."

Cindy, just remodel the mansion you bought on the way back from burying John Boy.
Lucky for us Romney won. /s
Cindy McCain, Sweetie, America has a strong leader in President Trump. I am sorry that Senator McCain died after such an awful year of suffering from cancer.
Sen. McCain was, I’m sorry to say, a class A phony. He campaigned for many years on repealing Obamacare but when he had an opportunity to keep his campaign promises he voted to keep Obamacare. Sen. McCain also worked as a conduit for the Clinton Campaign and the Fusion GPS/ Steel Pee Pee Unverified dossier. Finally, it was the McCain Family that decided that President Trump was not invited to the John McCain “endless funeral” extravaganza.
There were over 40 house republicans who retired this cycle.
I think the Republicans did much better than could be expected given the unusually large number of retirements. On the bright side, the RINO wing of the party took the brunt of the beating. I never thought that getting rid of them would be easy or pretty. I am pleasantly surprised that so many of them just simply quit, including Ryan. This is what getting rid of RINOs looks like. I suspect that most of the “moderate blue dogs” the rats got elected this cycle will be gone soon, just like the last time the rats tried that same ploy back in 2006.
yeah well John McVain was the negative Nancy and POTUS Donald Trump is the strong leader. Glad to sort that out for you, Cindy.
So true.

Right on. John didn’t have ANY support from the base. Mother knows best.
Cindy, Educate yourself.
Too bad the AZ Queen of Beers couldnt convince her hubby that going negative was not a winning choice.
Exsctly. Obama is decent and we have nothing to fear? Yeah, that’s going to win an election. Not.
If Pelosi loses McCain, stick a fork in her. She’s done.
In the interview Cindy McCain also complained neither Trump nor Melania called her after the funeral to console her. The ego is amazing, on par with her deceased husband.
After she and the family made a huge point of publicly not inviting the Trups to the funeral, she criticizes them for not telephoning her and offering condolences. The fact the Trumps ignored her and her bad behavior seems to have gotten under her skin. It goes to show sometimes the best response to your enemies is no response.
Well we have the designated GOP media darlings for the next two years; Cindy McCain and Romney.
Their disastrous performance was due to the fact they wouldn’t deal with Obamacare and the wall. Two things that put POTUS in office. Ryan and others in the house, as many here have been saying for the last 18 months, wanted to lose both the house and Senate to paralyze POTUS, or even impeach him.
Not to mention close races and voter fraud hurt us too.
Dude, 45 retirements killed us. In the end winning the races in Florida and in Texas and adding to the Senate was a drawl. Maybe even more than that considering SCOTUS appointments go through the Senate.
Right. We need another president like The Won who never met a platitude, overworked metaphor, or tired cliche instead of the vibrant job and economic powerhouse we elected in president Trump.
Trump is the least negative person I can think of.
LOL! Talk about negative Nancys!
By the way, she should be quiet and have another beer.
Puhlease, cindy mccain would start panting like a dog if she were left alone with Trump.
To be clear, this is Cindy McCain (D - AZ).
Thanks for posting that detail.
“Never confuse lack of motion for lack of actoon”
Given the high number of incumbents that lost, chances are most of the retirees would also have lost if they didn’t retire. They saw the writing on the wall.
