Nicaragua is bordered by Honduras on the north and Costa Rica on the South. How is Mexico a suitable asylum destination, or further still, the US? Why not Costa Rica... Or even Panams?

Incidentally, I was in Costa Rica briefly about five years ago. They were not sympathetic to border crossers from Nicaragua.

Costa Rica is being invaded by Nicaraguans, now 200 applicants a day for asylum..between 15 and 20% of people in Costa Rica (pop 5 million) are Nicaraguans...clash of cultures, crime, wages etc.

Costa Rica is currently having serious fiscal/money problems and proposed tax reforms were met with large strikes by govt workers. Their money is recently being devalued compared to the US dollar

CR people are upset with the large number of Nicaraguans flooding CR.
