I know I am minority on this but I agree with judge. If I am visiting a federal building including the white house I want to be treated fairly. If a federal official wanted to remove me from the premises for bad behavior I want to know in advance what behaviors would get me kicked out. I recently visited a national park and I was given instruction as to what actions were unacceptable.

Not “most judges”. Every judge who ever presided over any kind of hearing, or appearance, or arraignment, or trial of any kind, would respond just about the same way, demanding the disruptive person or persons be either be silent, or call upon the bailiff to expel the disruptive factors from the courtroom altogether, bound and gagged if necessary.

That was a kind of frozen moment, when the whiny Jim Acostas would not give up the microphone, and was sharply admonished by President Trump, then Trump steps back from the podium. It is a sort of open secret that Donald Trump has been known to “pack a little heat”(.357 Magnum, maybe?). To haul that out and fire a round into the ceiling would have pretty electrifying, but I an pretty sure Acostas would have handed over the microphone.

The above didn’t happen, of course, but it makes for an idle bit of fantasy.

In the meantime the White House should make incremental adjustments to the way it conducts press conferences. Nothing too ostentatious, just little drip-by-drip changes, each of which makes things a bit more uncomfortable for ALL the reporters.

They could bring in pieces of equipment and/or furniture which would take up space now occupied by reporters. Nothing too big, just enough to eliminate a row of seats.

They could start bringing in one or two reporters from small newspapers, or even an obscure blogger or two. Enough to displace a few regulars.

They could turn the heat up in the room and have the President 45 minutes late, at which point they could call off the press conference due to urgent business.

Eventually they could add rules such as after a reporter is allowed 20 seconds to ask a question, his mic is turned off. If anyone continues to talk or shouts a question, he would be physically removed by the Secret Service Two infractions would result in a time out from future press conferences. Three such incidents would result in revocation of passes and banishment from the White House premises.

Regardless how the court rules in this matter...the President should have the beefiest Marine guard he can find, passing the microphone around at the next press conference.

Every school in the country has the right to suspend students if they disrupt classrooms — yet the White House does not have the authority to suspend reporters who disrupt its news conferences?

The media wants press conferences more than the White House does. Donald Trump would be perfectly happy to present the news and his opinions through Twitter alone.

So the next time Jim Acosta disrupts a White House press conference, instead of breaking the law by suspending him, the White House should simply suspend the news conference — either for a day, or a week, or however long it takes for CNN to fire Jim Acosta since there would be nothing for him to do.

“Trump should fire his boneheaded lawyers.”

And the a$$holes who recommended this effing judge, Timothy Kelly!
Being President is a thankless job, made worse by the fact that you have to accept on faith that someone you appoint is who he claims to be. And unfortunately, unlike Executive Branch appointments, Judges can’t be fired and replaced. But we should implement a reconfirmation process for all Federal Judges. They need to be removed from the idea that they can do whatever they choose because they can’t be disciplined by the voters.

This IS a separation of powers issue. The judicial branch has zero jurisdiction over how the executive branch defends the White House.

I think the judge made a great ruling. No Trump can make rules and hold the LSM to then. If he tried to make rules first the backlash would of been hugh.

They are supposed to be professionals. Wouldn’t a list of rules on conduct be so ... proletarian?

It’s a TRO, not a “case.” The actual case is still being decided.

how many people will that room hold? (obviously not enough to hold all the reporters in the world) so... obviously someone gets to pick and choose who gets to be in the room.. I see no reason CNN has to be given a seat over another news organization.

“Trump Must Appeal Acosta Ruling Based On Separation Of Powers”

Huh? How could someone in their right mind write a title like that?

“To appeal this ruling implies that the Judiciary Branch has any business telling the Executive Branch how to manage its internal affairs. Is the Judiciary branch the supreme branch that rules over all the others?”

Some people get it. There are way too many people who think that the courts are the final authority on all matters. It’s really depressing. I would guess that 90% of so called ‘republicans’ think this way, too.

If Acosta got his press pass at the whim of the WH Press Office, then, he had due process, when, at a whim they withdrew it. Acosta gets no enhanced First Amendment right, than any other citizen has, except, he works for a company with a big megaphone. (Albeit, one that seems to be getting smaller all the time.) Acosta’s First Amendment right does not give him a right to a Presidential answer or press pass.

Trump already gave in when he answered to judges on Immigration/national security.

“And the a$$holes who recommended this effing judge, Timothy Kelly!”

I keep hearing but “McScrotum is great with appointing Trump’s judges. “

Well, we know why now. It’s hard to find a judge that isn’t a radical leftist. 95% of lawyers are radical leftists.

My point has always been if you give the courts & judges this much power, then we don’t have a constitutional republic any longer.

True. His lawyers and white house advisors are morons. In Trump’s defense, if he had a party backing his play and they weren’t itching to impeach him, then he’d have more power to tell these ahole judges to go F-— themselves.

If PDJT ‘defied’ these judges, the media, the rinos, the dems would go to defcon 1 with cries of ‘constitutional crisis’, ‘dictator’, with subsequent calls for impeachment.

Trump is PINO because the swamp is irreparably corrupt and illegitimate.

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

——————-
I don’t see a reference to the President here. He is free to handle the press anyway he wants.
