Be critical of stuff. “You know, one time I had to do a broadcast on a holiday with hot studio lights shining on me.” Oh the horror.
Love how the politicians who have spent their lives living off the taxpayers are crying about the cost of deploying troops to the border. For three years I was deployed somewhere. Whether it was overseas or some fort in the US. What was the cost of those deployments? Soldiers need to be housed and fed somewhere. Why not the border?
Hey, if Congress gets to only work 4 day weeks and get off on all holidays and have long recesses and not show up for votes, then why not the military? /s
Yeah, those cease fires work really well sometimes huh?
Military or ex-military does not mean patriot.
That is certainly correct. As is becoming more and more evident these days.
Affirmative action militarys not so great. Suspect a significant percentage of them (women, blacks, faggots, dykes, atheists) would have no problem targetting white men.
Lots of people miss holidays because they are running power, water and sewer plants. People are still at work in airports, train and bus stations. Over the road truckers are still rolling. And of course, police, fire and medical are all up and running.
Not to be hard hearted but the world does not stop turning. Not even on holidays. And the US military keeps right on going. As the Hessians found out to their regret.
Does this no work rule go for football as well?
I'm a 71 year old female who was never in the service, but I did work in uniform, and worked many holidays...sometimes even double shifts on holidays so others could have it off. It was part of the job, and the paycheck. I thank God we have our military folk, who are willing to sacrifice for their fellow man. We live in the greatest country in the world. God Bless them all.
Troops never missed Thanksgiving or Christmas when Obama was POTUS.
/s
Gee, I remember missing both when LBJ was President in 1967.
“Critics...any relation to anonymous source?”
Good one. Now go buy yourself a treat.
:)
I’m surprised they didn’t demand the troops feed the illegal invaders and provide courtesy transportation to a secluded drop off spot....spent 24 years in uniform and missed a few special occasions - and when on a remote, weekends were by name only.....Oorah!...hope no jar-heads take offense at a fly-boy borrowing their strategy....
It would be nice if the President were to spend Thanksgiving with the troops on the border.
Same goes for Police, Fire, EMT's and Ambulance drivers, Nurses. They operate 24/7/365 if necessary.
Are those Fire fighters out in Cali going to be home for Thanksgiving? I don't think so.
Mom’s NEVER get a Holiday from work. I’m 70, this year I went on Strike due to health. I taught my boys to cook, now it’s their, wife and girlfriend’s turn to cook, clean it up, put it away. I’ll play with my 13 month old grand daughter.
Already did the Military Mom at home with kids, husband on deployment at Sea for 20 yrs.
Well, don’t be so sure that some may get at least a little rest. Looks like the weather magicians may have some moisture headed in there Wednesday. Even some possibly heavy rain. Of course then there will be mud slides to deal with from the burn scars. Not to mention some hazardous debris that could become displaced. We’re getting a little of the smoke coming over the Sierra in to the Truckee Meadows. In any case, bless the folks who are “ON DUTY” over the holidays.
God Bless you! I have two sons. I got divorced when they were young, and never remarried. Neither son has married, though they are older and straight. My oldest lives about two hours from me. I wouldn’t want to cook, or have Thanksgiving dinner there as I’d be spitting cat hair out for weeks afterwards. I love cats, but not with my dinner. He usually comes here for the holidays, and I cook enough for him to take home leftovers. He cooks for himself at home, and is a decent cook, but enjoys Mom’s cooking from time to time. My youngest son lives outside Indianapolis with his girlfriend. He cooks for himself too, but both he and his girlfriend usually work holidays, so order a prepared turkey dinner for themselves.
Have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!!
