Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has apparently decided to give a middle finger to Sen. Jeff Flake, the retiring Arizona Republican who says he'll vote against judicial nominees in committee and on the floor until McConnell allows a floor vote on his legislation to protect the Mueller investigation. At the end of the day Thursday, McConnell filed cloture on two of the very worst of Trump's nominees: district court nominee Thomas Farr of North Carolina and 8th Circuit nominee Jonathan Kobes. The votes will happen when the Senate returns after Thanksgiving.
Farr has been waiting for a vote since the Judiciary Committee passed him back in January. Farr "helped draft North Carolina's voter suppression law, defended racially discriminatory gerrymandering and may have lied to the Senate about his role in disenfranchising black voters when he worked for the late Sen. Jesse Helms." He's a nightmare, his history of voter suppression extreme. And he lied to the Judiciary Committee about it. The uproar following his success in the Judiciary Committee might be why McConnell has been reluctant to have the floor vote, but it's typical of him that he'll use it now to give a massive "f*** you" to Flake.

“”I hope they don’t have children.””
Oh! No, you don’t. It is true that we worry about our own children and our grandchildren but there is truly nothing as wonderful as seeing your grandchildren come into the world. Don’t ask me why the difference as I’ve never been able to explain it but there’s something just very special about them. Believe me!!! I never understood the thrill that grandparents get when one is born but after it happens, you understand it full well...
McCain, Corker and Flake now gone from the 51 Republicans had before.
Now more seats will be Republican without 3 almost guaranteed turncoats.
The Senate will be much better.
Count Murkowski as a likely turncoat still and it still looks much better.
Looks like Real Republicans in the other seats.
I know what you mean. One of my kids pets is my grandson and I love him. But my millinials are not that responsible and I absolutely do not want to raise their kids. I am too old and want to enjoy my retirement.
Murkowski Collins Romney. Still have 3. 4th
Maybe he wont run again. If they make things miserable for him why bother. He can say he was president. He actually has a job to return to unlike presidents before him.
...................................................
Baloney!
Trump is enjoying every minute of his presidency. He is a born fighter and it all makes him feel young again. He isn’t interested in saying he was president. He is interested in getting this country back on the right track and is succeeding! He has invested very heavily in his objective and is not one to waste his investment. Take your silly thoughts elsewhere.
Gee. I never said I didn’t want him to run. You have to admit it was a tough week.
Why is it depressing for him? He has a stronger Senate and is rid of some of the biggest RiNOs in the land. I’m sure seeing the back of Ryan also has its perks. Someone once said you don’t fight a war with what you wish for, but you fight a war with what you have. IMO Trump is on firmer ground now even with the loss of the do nothing house. The new Senate can stop the House endeavors and Trump’s pen can do the rest. There won’t exist 60 votes to override his veto. I think Collins as weak as she is has made a commitment with her Kavanaugh vote.
Merk can’t go it alone and Flake is gone along with some other useless Reps.
You have to admit it was a tough week.
....................
That all depends on one’s point of view. I think we came out of the rough week on more solid ground than we went in on. The House was totally worthless. The one and only thing they supported was the tax break. Everything else they campaigned on for years they refused to lift a finger to work on. So thy were worthless to further Trump’s agenda. The Senate was under the cabal of Murk, Collins, Flake and McCain. Now, Collins might float because of her Kavanaugh decision while Flake and McCain are gone. Romney can’t do much damage because the odds are in Trump’s favor now. Trying to overturn a veto by Trump will never succeed now either.
The rough week has also exposed the Democrat’s tactics of voter fraud. A lot is going to be cleaned up as voter fraud is one of Trump’s targets. The Dems have shot the wad and are finding out their muskets can’t tough Trump’s M1 Garand.
The way I see it, now the Rats are going to have to go on record for supporting a lot of things the American people don’t agree with.
A lot of Rat House candidates ran to the center. They’ll be good little “Nancy Boys” once they get to DC.
Surprised to see the KOS byline.
Be awful if they make money from syndication (maybe KOS is paying for the click though).
it is going to very very interesting.
I’m sorry but I have to ask what that means -
“”One of my kids pets is my grandson””
Dauhter adopted feral cat. I hated cats. Dog lover. But he is such a wonderful pet. I love him. I consider him my grandson. Don’t you see bumper stickers about pets referred to as children or grandchildren?
I think you’re making a serious mistake thinking there is no future for your children or grandchildren.
Take it from someone about Trumps age, life is full of surprises, and many of them are very pleasant, even exhilarating.
Just take President Trump as a political surprise, who would have even imagined such a thing even 5 or 6 years ago?
So if the vote is next week then all it would take would be for one more Republican to vote against them. Anyone think Collins, Murkowski, Corker, or Sasse wouldn't step up to the plate and vote "no" as well?
