I believe it was some communist leader who said that they would use the Constitution and our own laws to destroy The United States and our form of government.
I am reminded every day that John Adams, signer of the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and our second President said:
“Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
It appears that the majority of the occupants of this country are no longer moral and religious and have no restraints, derived there of, to prevent their willful destruction of this country.
It comes down to this, by Robert Winthrop, Speaker of the U.S. House:
“Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled either by a power without them, either by the word of God or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible or by the bayonet.”
Benjamin Franklin, signer of the Declaration of Independence
“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”
“Whereas true religion and good morals are the only solid foundations of public liberty and happiness . . . it is hereby earnestly recommended to the several States to take the most effectual measures for the encouragement thereof.”
It is obvious that we, as a Nation, have strayed far from the original intended path.
In my post #129 I inadvertently left out part of the statement by Robert Winthrop, Speaker of the U.S. House It should read:
“Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled either by a power within them or by a power without them, either by the Word of God or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible or by the bayonet.”
