President Trump told Senate Republican leaders on Thursday that his top lame-duck priorities include passing a spending bill with border security funds and approving new prison reform legislation but middle-class tax cuts appear to have fallen from the agenda.
Trump vigorously invoked the tax-slashing plan in the final days of the midterm election campaign, but public accounts of an Oval Office agenda meeting do not mention the vow.
White House spokesman Hogan Gidley and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., both omitted Trump's "pure 10 percent tax cut" for the middle class from public descriptions of the lame-duck agenda.

Unexpected?? Not!
Democrats play Santa Claus to their base.
Republicans give stockings containing to its base.
Oh well, enjoy your minority, boys, you’ve earned it.
That would be *stockings containing coal*, lazy fingers.
We are running close to trillion dollar deficits, and the middle class does not pay much in federal income taxes. The focus should be on cutting spending.
Thats because the American people said they didnt want it. They voted out republicans in the house. Thats where a tax cut needs to originate. They need to make that point perfectly clear. Parents can thank their stupid college student offspring. Perhaps they can adjust the kids allowances to make up the difference.
Actually we voted in a GOP House and Senate into 2019 — and they should have delivered far, far more in both tax and spending cuts than they did. Period.
Since the House flipped, the Dems are the only ones who can bring it up. The initiative is now in their hands.
K Street lobbyists wanted corporate tax cuts. K Street got them. K Street doesn’t care about middle class tax cuts so we get nothing. It couldn’t be any more clear now that the GOP works for the K Street lobbyists who stuff their pockets with cash and not Main Street voters.
Never happen.
Tax cuts out.
No military near Tijuana?
Disappointing.
To quote SoFlo, “Not good.”
What chu talkin bout Willis? Tijuana is in Mexico, right over the border N there is mil presence.
Prison reform instead of tax cuts? That makes no sense.
The truth of the matter is that, thanks to the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, most federal domestic spending is now based on stolen state powers and uniquely associated state revenues, such revenues stolen by means of unconstitutional federal taxes.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States."Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
... the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Federal Constitution, is in the States, and not in the Federal Government [emphases added]. Rep. John Bingham, Congressional Globe, 1866. (See about middle of 3rd column.)
"The smart crooks long ago figured out that getting themselves elected to federal office to make unconstitutional tax laws to fill their pockets is a much easier way to make a living than robbing banks." me
"Federal career lawmakers probably laugh all the way to the bank to deposit bribes for putting loopholes for the rich and corporations in tax appropriations laws, Congress actually not having the express constitutional authority to make most appropriations laws where domestic policy is concerned. Such laws are based on stolen state powers and uniquely associated stolen state revenues." me
Patriots desperately need to support Pres. Trump in working with the states to repeal the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments, 17 the broomstick of the wicked witch (Soros).
Look for it in late 2019 before the 2020 campaign. He will propose a 10% cut on middle class taxes and make the demoracts go on record and vote against it while all the while they scream the tax cuts go only to the rich.
He is still the smartest negotiator we have had in the WH in a looooong time.
No ... same ol'-same ol' ...
Election is over.
