Twitter users proceeded to blast Scarry for the tweet.
"Holy s---." wrote New York Post reporter Joe Tacopino. "She's wearing clothes."
"A skirt AND shoes?!?" wrote TV director Miles Kahn. "Get a load of Marie-Antoinette over here."
As of 6 p.m. ET, the tweet had more than 5,000 replies compared to roughly 50 retweets and 200 likes, creating what is known online as a "ratio" of more replies than retweets and likes.
"Very curious how she speaks of struggling to afford an apartment in dc while also living rent-free in so many people's heads," wrote Josh Billinson of the Independent Journal Review.

Don’t you think she will eventually learn and become the tool the rats hope she can be? After all, madmaxine is still around.
It’s not about an aspect or even level of femininity.
It’s about being a poverty-poser.
If I walked into Congress wearing a sack, they would laugh & take a picture of my backside,
What backside? You’re a stick.
1) She’s stepping into a $174,000 salary. I’d like that kind of struggle.
2) She LOVES the media attention.
BUT
3) Is easily offended and feels the need to defend herself against even small slights.
The entertainment value here is going to be pretty sweet.
Lousy legs too, just one more reason to dislike Occasional Cortex
So it is her mother's married last name.
Maybe it’s just my complete lack of fashion sense, but I could not tell if that is a $100 off the rack outfit or a $1000 tailored one.
She is going for the Eva Peron look. “Don’t cry for me I have money...”
“I saw back hole...”
No flame here, just a brief explanation...
Freeper’s are quick to learn and use new politically correct (PC) terms...out of respect and compassion for the politically offended parties (or parts). We allow no moss to collect on the rolling stone of our values. No one can accuse us of not caring or being behind in these tumultuous times.
“Keep dreaming. Within a few years she will be a multi millionaire. The Dems will groom her to be the next Senator.”
A few years? She is going to be a Congressperson. Congress critters are exempt from insider trading rules. Plus, like Barack Obama two decades ago, she is being groomed for greatness so she’ll get the very special insider investment deals. Add to that a multimillion dollar book deal for her first autobiography. She’ll be a multimillionaire within a year.
“...suffering...”? No. “Ridiculing and laughing-at” more likely. She is an easily ridiculed empty-headed nitwit.
You’re not alone. Even $100 for a single outfit is a lot to me...$100 will buy 6 pairs of Wranglers!
She has a point — except that I don’t remember ANY male member of congress ever mis-claiming they were poor, and then showing up on the cover of a magazine in a designer dress. (which it turns out she didn’t own, the magazine provided it to make her look more presentable).
I have no doubt that if some guy claimed he couldn’t afford a suit, and was then shown in a suit, that the entire left media would make it a top news story.
“...her family has plenty of money...”
She did NOT grow up in the Bronx projects as she wants people to think. She grew up in Yorktown heights, Westchester County which is where my husband grew up and although it is not as posh (”bougie”) as say, Mount Kisco, it is an upper middle class area.
This woman is as fake as fauxcahontas!
It’s the same with high end vehicles. Unless a logo is plastered all over it, who the heck knows.
When I used to live in LA, so many people drove Mercedes to project a certain image, although they were nothing more than apartment renters in a run-down part of town. It might be the same for this socialist from NY: dress up to the Nines to give an image, but creep back into your hovel late at night, in secret, maintaining the illusion.
Ahh well, if you are Barney Fag you can even run a gay prostitution ring out of your DC apartment - because, well, just because!
Wealthy suburb of NYC, lots of golf courses iirc.
We are in the opening phase of the greatest political realignment since the 1850s, perhaps since the Whigs replaced the Federalists.
Everybody who is in opposition to the powers that be has skin in the game, including Miss Westchester here. She demonstrated against Nancy Pelosi becoming Speaker again. That means she has something to say.
I didn’t know sh*t when I was 28.
While Democrats and media will freely refer to Congress as the 'old boys club', one must never refer to a strong, powerful, and capable woman as a 'girl'.
It's hyper-PC but liberals will exploit the smallest harmless error or mistake as proof of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.
It's a minefield out there. Watch your step and your words.
