Which is being born in the United States to TWO US citizens.
Yell and scream all you want, but this is what the founders and framers meant by “natural born citizen”. PERIOD!
For those of you who poopooed this because you supported Cruz or Rubio or said about Obama, “no big deal”, well here we are again. Only this time Kamala can say “Obama was president for 8 years, this is “settled”.
Chester A Arthur didn’t settle it and Obunghole didn’t settle it.
We need the Supreme Court to rule. Win or lose, we need this settled. The Supremes may well get this wrong. I give it a 50/50 chance to get it right.
Also we need election law reform. The law states how old you have to be to get a driver’s license. Will the DMV accept a note from your mom or Boy Scout leader that you are old enough?
HELL NO! You need a BIRTH CERTIFICATE, passport (which you needed a BIRTH CERTIFICATE to get) or other PROOF of your age.
What about that? Article II also has an age requirement. Do we even ask our presidential candidates to prove their age?
What, they “LOOK” old enough? Try that buying BEER in many stores. But eligibility for president, the highest office in the land, we just look at them and say, yup, old enough. Yup, natural born citizen.
I know that candidates get a letter from their “Party Leaders” (automatically, “Communist” pops into my mind when I hear “Party Leaders”)
Like Nancy Pelosi knows the age, citizenship status of a candidate, and would never LIE about it, if she knew otherwise.
Get Nancy Pelosi to vouch for you when buying beer or getting a driver’s license, see how that works out for you.
The highest office in the land and we don’t make candidates PROVE how old they are, where they were born, and the citizenship status of their parentS at the time. Not to mention their qualifying length of residence.
