Some don’t. The GOP is divided between the establishment, careerist, professional government types (Romney, Ryan) and the Trump insurrectionists. And right now, the careerist professionals would rather fight the “civil war” against the Trump insurrection than fight the Marxists (who, after all, are also pro-careerist, professional government).

No one is stopping them from cheating so why stop now. It would be like telling a high school kid who cheated on his history test and got away with it to stop cheating. Why would he stop, no one is stopping him from cheating so mind as well continue
