Very little of that arrived before winter of 41 and Stalingrad. The Germans had two or three months to achieve their victory in Russia, but they never had a realistic chance either way. Russia’s too big, Germany was too morally bankrupt, and Germany was too small. But Reich fans always have this lost cause and thinking where they believe the Germans could have done it. The Germans were viewed as Invincible from the first two years of the war where they rolled over pathetically weak Nations. They simply didn’t have the military machine or the ability to take on the Soviet Union, much less the British Empire are the United States
You might change your mind about that after reading Diane West’s “American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation’s Character”.
Truman’s closest advisor Harry Hopkins, on his own signature, was diverting major war material scheduled for Great Britain to the Soviet. A very well documented eye opener. Makes one ready to hoist the Black Flag and start cutting throats.
Germany probably couldn’t have won....but without western aid, The Soviet Union wouldn’t have won either. They could have pushed the Germans back, but couldn’t have sustained any offensives into Central Europe. The result would’ve been a very bloody stalemate.
If you remember, Operation Barbarossa started late due to the fact Hitler had to bail out Mussolini and his adventures in Greece. Had that not happened and Hitler advanced on Russia with the original time table, things might have been different.
I used to live in a farm house with an old panzer man that says he was there from Poland through Czechoslovakia in ‘45. Anyway, he says his unit was behind Moscow ready to squeeze the pincers when it began to fall apart.
