I've heard them called "BC" glasses (for birth control), because they cut down on one's appeal. But in her case, I'm willing to look past (or through) them.

Not everyone does well with contacts. And without the glasses she's just another cute face in a sea of them. The glasses give a little individuality.

I hear ya, but I’m not suggesting contacts. I’ve always preferred thin rimmed glasses. Not Ben Franklin rimless... more of the hippy wire-rimmed variety, or thin-rimmed with more substantial sidepieces.

IMHO, the heavy-framed dark ones are too obscuring.

But, its definitely a YMMV thing.
