You don’t get an unemployment check if you quit and might be tough to find a job replacing your income which enables your current lifestyle, allows you to pay off your student loans, etc...

Do the math Dr.

You dopes.

What prompted the response from NRA was buried in the story

Position Paper From the American College of Physicians
http://annals.org/aim/fullarticle/2709820/reducing-firearm-injuries-deaths-united-states-position-paper-from-american

Forget the abstract and premise of the article.

One could argue against doctors and medical errors , which a John’s Hopkins study estimated that nearly 250,000 deaths occur each year due to medical malpractice or mistakes.

Medical Errors Are No. 3 Cause Of U.S Deaths, Researchers Say
https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2016/05/03/476636183/death-certificates-undercount-toll-of-medical-errors

Why is that not argument against doctors? Because the numbers dont tell the whole story.

And any doctor or rational person who chose to change I the defense of doctors against that study, would have to concede there are many factors that contribute to deaths and injuries but an inanimate and non sentient object is not a cause any more than an automobile is a cause for deaths and injuries.

There is a thought process that takes place before there is an outcome which demonstrate intent or, or, dare I say it carelessness, keeping the focus on medical errors to force concession on guns.

That is; there are cultural differences around the nation that account for murders and violence.

For instance, San Jose, Ca had some 40 murders last year with a population of 1 million and yet cities like Tulsa, OK had nearly 2.t times as many murders. That is amazing for a city that has only 40p,000 thousands residents or less than half that of San Jose.

Why so many murders in OK?

Or take Baltimore, MD. This city has 600,000 thousand residents and somehow more than 400 murders?

What makes Baltimore or Tulsa so special?

Back to medical errors which are the number 3 cause of deaths in America. How is that horrific number isn’t a number one concern?

A bit of sarcasm on my side but when people are responding to idiotic texts and media sensationalism they need to take a breath and get some context.

Besides, deaths and injuries from guns alone have been halved in the last 25 years and we have more guns and people today.

And the marketplace disagrees with them anyway. Around 24 million NICS will take place this year.

So, even if you count the last ten years of NICS you would see more than 100 million sales or transfers of firearms.

That is a hell of a lot people who lawfully purchased a gun and doesn’t account for the last 30 or 40 years which would bring the net total to something which makes the other side very much in the minority on this issue and one they won’t be winning ok again in my lifetime with the SCOTUS as it is and soon will be strengthened by a Federal system filled judges who can read without injecting their contrived moral virtue into the outcome.

In making a case for anything, it should tie back to the bible verse that says to give a reason for the hope that is within us, yet with meekness and respect. I don’t see much meekness or respect, and the result is a brouhaha that many people may in fact “enjoy” but which goes nowhere.

We all should take a Jesus chill pill. Society is an interdependent thing. There’s progress as in towards the good that God has shown us, and then there’s progress as towards manmade ideas.
