Pig headed Brown leaves and Butt headed Newsom enters. Possibly the only thing that will change is the fires get more deadly and the fools virtue signal F*** Trump, climate change is real!

In the 60s we learned how to thin trees and clear flammable debris from our Boy Scout camp which was just a few miles from where Smokey was found. As mentioned, this method of managing Forrest’s was abonded 20-30 years ago in favor of “letting Gaia heal the earth”. Now they are paying the price. When one pretends they can ignore reality and live in a Unicorn fantasy land eventually there is a price to be paid. They are paying it. Unfortunately, the gummint will probably step in to “prevent their suffering”. Wanna bet tax dollars go to rebuilding celebrity’s mansions?

Point is that the “firefighters” virtue posturing about the President’s tough talk probably include union officials whose primary incentive isn’t fire prevention but fire job fostering.

https://www.marinettecounty.com/departments/forestry-br/general-information/

The counties have to take over the management of these forests.

Not the state, and not the federal government.

Been harping about this since 1906.

End of story.

these outraged people responding to the president are the ones making it political or partisan. Trump is only speaking facts and truth - their minds are so warped as to go right to drawing the conclusions they do from the facts/truth Trump spoke.

This is the core problem with modern America. Critical hard analysis of a situation is superseded by the politically correct, emotional narrative. Pseudo environmental programs that do not allow scientifically valid forest management do indeed result in catastrophic wildfires with the loss of human life and property. However the narrative calls for a “ natural habitat” and “destructive” humans either adapt, constrict their numbers or suffer nature’s wrath. That is the way liberals think and the American public no longer has the education or knowledge to understand the consequences when they give them or allow them to seize power.

The USFS never managed the forests.

It was the timber companies that built the roads and bridges and burned the slash piles and brush.

And built the fire breaks otherwise known as clear cuts.

And they’d pay us to do that hard work.

President Trump is pragmatic, so he talks about solving problems in a realistic way.

Leftists do not want solutions. They have a victim mentality, they crave attention, and they want expressions of sympathy.

Yet, whenever they do get expressions of sympathy, they scream “we don’t want your thoughts and prayers!”

Fires in California are common.
From TWO YEARS BEFORE THE MAST By Richard Henry Dana published in 1840.

“The only thing which diminishes its beauty is, that the hills have no large trees upon them, they having been all burnt by a great fire which swept them off about a dozen years before, and they had not yet grown up again.

The fire was described to me by an inhabitant, as having been a very terrible and magnificent sight. The air of the whole valley was so heated that the people were obliged to leave the town and take up their quarters for several days upon the beach.”

I wonder if any spotted owl die in these fires? What about the deer, elk, snakes, rodents, squirrels and mass other birds?

I wish a reporter would report on not only humans not being about to escape the inferno, but what about the spotted owl, the very reason for not cutting anymore trees in fed or state land? Keeping man out of the federal and states forests has been such a living success for man and beast!

California was once dry and desert like. There were horrendous forest fires back when local Indians lived there. The Indians just accepted large fires ( caused by whatever ) but learned to clear and burn slash around their villages or not to live in vulnerable spots.

Nature will continue to do it's thing and as man overpopulates, lessons will be learned.

Missing from this article is that Trump's been tweeting about this for over a year and has taken steps to reduce federal requirements (and reopen some logging) over the strenuous objections of California.

With 29 dead and counting from the Paradise fire that has taken no less than 6,500 homes (and quite likely double that number) and has 50,000+ evacuated - well, guess they can find solace in Governor Jerry ‘Moonbeam’ Brown's assertion that this is the new abnormal due to global warming and probably their fault for not driving electric cars...

Glad he could be bothered to return to the state to sign the disaster declaration - oh, right, probably because the Jenner estate was burned rather than an entire town of 27k+ people in NorCal.
