While I am utterly disgusted by both this guy voting and by Scott Israel, there is a simple rule at play here:

No conviction = any person accused of any crime(s) cannot be denied their right to vote.

Perhaps people should be more pissed off that there hasn’t yet been a trial that almost certainly would result in a conviction and some elements of justice.

People who don’t register to vote don’t have a right to vote, accused of a crime or otherwise.

The sheriff is under no legal obligation to register inmates to vote. This was wilful, and Mr. Pollack is right to be enraged.
