Cutting funding isn’t why the fires are out of control. It’s because anyone who orders trees cut will be called a monster. I think Trump will do it now though.

“Forest management”. Did decreased funding cause necessary forest management to not occur? How did “forest management” change under lower budget?

Yes, federal funding or not, California never took care of their forests and trails. The fires were not caused by a lack of federal funding.

The USFS budget was cut by a real 15%. It was not an across the board cut, but Wildland Fire Management budget was preserved.
Additionally, the USFS will significantly increase timber sales. And it’s the timber companies that do the hard work of forest management. Roads, bridges, burning of slash and brush.
And building the greatest firebreaks ever devised by man: The Clear Cut.

I remember a billboard put up after an out of control fire went through a area out west. It laid blame on Clinton, BLM for mismanagement.
Would like to find that.
