Every time my company tries to do proactive vegatation management in our rights of way, especially with large trees in towns and cities, the public gets completely hysterical.
It can takes us 4 to 5 years to site a simple small 40 MVA neighborhood substation—there’s that much hysteria and legal hoops we have to jump through. Half the time the raging lunatics get their way and we’re forced to relocate our planned substation sites over and over again.
