PG&E power lines may have sparked deadly Camp Fire, according to radio transmissions

PARADISE, Calif — Downed PG&E power lines, amid high winds, may have sparked the deadly Camp Fire that has destroyed the town of Paradise and killed at least nine people, according to hours of firefighter radio transmissions reviewed by Bay Area News Group.

The two largest fires ever in Arizona were caused by (1) an arsonist and a stupid stranded ultrarunner who set a signal fire and (2) Two idiot campers who didn’t properly put their campfire out. Over a million acres were burned.

With idiots like the above, who needs terrorists!?!

All good advice. But what I was debating with the other poster about was the concept that the power company was doing something ‘wrong’ if they couldn’t build above ground utility lines that were bulletproof.

In San Diego County last year, in response to earlier complaints about power lines starting some fires, preemptively cut power off to fire danger areas in advance of winds. They caught h*ll for this too from politicians, etc. too. You just cannot win sometimes.
