“Rick Scott dropped his own ball on this. He should have had a team ready in advance, with judges ready.”

This. Broward has stunk to high heaven for years. Being caught flat-footed on this is inexcusable.

I KNOW people very close to the Rick Scott campaign. They knew how close it would be. They ran, “What if” scenarios about the outcome. It was suggested to Scott to have a team prepared to file 1 hour after polls closed, if certain counties wouldn’t post final counts etc. as required by FL law. He wouldn’t ok it.

As Governor, he could have gotten rid of Snipes, and the sherriff. He chose not to.

As a candidate, he could have been prepared for “worst case,” and chose not to. Stopped it immediately. But nope, they’ve been adding votes for days. He finally filed Thursday night. Thursday night. Not Tuesday night. Not emergency filing Tuesday night at 8:05 p.m. get a judge out of bed thing. He could have done that.

That’s the truth, the party knows it, and we’re pulling out hair out.
