PHOENIX The Arizona Republican Party is alleging that Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes deliberately destroyed evidence to cover up voting irregularities as the county moves to count hundreds of ballots in the tight U.S. Senate race between Martha McSally and Kyrsten Sinema.
In a statement released Friday, Chairman Jonathan Lines said the party sent a formal, written request to all the county recorders in Arizona, including Fontes, requesting that all evidence of irregularities be preserved after they were discovered during the early voting period.
Lines pointed to the use of emergency voting centers and an inconsistent method for counting early ballots as some of the irregularities. Lines said the party informed Fontes that there may be a legal challenge based on the irregularities and that state law required county recorders to set aside the disputed ballots during the legal process.
But instead, Lines claimed, Fontes directed his office to mix the disputed ballots in with the undisputed ballots thereby ensuring that there could be no review of voting irregularities.
Fontess decision was made deliberately, after receiving the letter from the Arizona Republican Party and being informed of his legal duty to preserve evidence, Lines said in a statement.
Lines said the party is reviewing all legal options at this time.

I would say a large majority would get tossed since they were not registered to vote.
If they counted 10-20K worth of provisional ballots, first I would be surprised there would be that many and 2nd according to election laws in these states, that would be fraud.
Has Fontes replied to this? I can’t imagine that he’d have a coherent answer.
Or read the same email
The ‘rats are very connected and know what they are doing, none of this is a “mistake”
any counties that mixed their disputed ballots with their regular cast ballots, should all be throw out and not counted
Any one complains about their ballot going into the trash, they need to take it out on their local election officials who failed to follow the laws.
We need to get real strict about this, if we are going to have a country.

Statement from Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes on questions over the preservation of evidence
PHOENIXIn response to recent GOP questions regarding the preservation of evidence, Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes released this statement:
“There are two parts to this issue, the ballot and the envelope. The GOP asked me to sequester both as evidence. Keeping the ballots separate and uncounted is illegal, and I refuse to disenfranchise voters. But, I still have the envelopes. So if they want to sue me for something I understand the Clerk’s Office is open until 5 p.m.”
bttt
Tell that a-hole they didn’t say to keep them separate AND uncounted, just separate. This guy has clearly been coached by his Democrat-selected lawyer to muddy the language.
Lock her up.
What a condescending bastard!! This whole mess is getting on my last nerve.
Mine, too. Think I will sue for mental distress and lack of sleep.
“Good God, this country is now nothing more than a banana republic with nukes. So glad my WWII-vet Dad is no longer around to see what weve become.”
No kidding. It would have broken the heart of my WWII-vet Dad.
What an ass! The GOP didn’t say those ballots couldn’t be counted, they said they had to be retained, as well as the envelopes, for review. Damn, I hate Democrats.
In Arizona: Supposed you request a mail in ballot. You don’t fill it out, but the county knows you were mailed one. The poll workers will see you requested a mail in ballot. So they will hand you a provisional ballot. They are then supposed to check to make sure you didn’t ACTUALLY submit a mail in ballot before counting the provisional ballot.
Lamppost

Some assembly required.
Treason! Give him the death penalty!
The arrogance and condescension make you want to do something drastic.

maybe English is a second language to this guy or he just isn’t that bright to understand english as a first language? He surely could have asked if he wasn’t clear on keeping things separate and not mixing them in to properly filled out ballots. He just shows he is NOT the person for the job, since he cannot abide by law nor follow requests reguarding non properly confirmed ballots.
