This begs the question: If voting is to be entirely secret, how are there statistics on how any demographic voted? How can they know what sex voted for which candidate?
If all of the stats are based upon exit polling, then they are about as accurate as pissing into a Dixie cup during a hurricane.
These are from “exit polls”, taken from interviewing people that actually voted as they exit the polling places. Like all polls, they gather both the voting info and demographics (from those willing to disclose it), and then extrapolate it for the whole electorate. It’s far from scientific, but it’s not wholly inaccurate either. Get enough people to participate, and there is at least SOME statistical significance to it.
Problems with the methodology include people:
1. refusing to take the interview;
2. misrepresenting how they actually voted;
3. misrepresenting their demographic information.
So a zealous liberal probably can’t wait to be asked - much like a zealous Trump supporter. But I suspect many, if not most, are more subdued. I, for one, would tell them “none of your damn business”.
