Many aren’t financially able to have families until their 30’s

Many don't seek out difficult, well-paying jobs, but are content working for teenager wages. There are plenty of jobs a man could raise a family on, but you have to work long hard hours at physically and/or mentally challenging work.

Developed countries do not have to admit mass quantities of foreigners. They are choosing to do so, in part because they do not have sufficient workers/taxpayers among the ethnic-native population.

The US brings in 1.1 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS a year, the highest number in the world by far. Since 1990 over 35 million legal immigrants have entered this country, which is equivalent to the current population of Canada. Do we have a shortage of workers.

US labor participation rates (1980-2018) ages 16-65:

That might be true in lower cost area’s of the country.

Where I live a decent apartment can easily cost $2000.00 a month.

Add in Child care and Medical expenses and unless you have help that is way to much for many people.

Societal pressure in the West has conditioned people to not want to create families. The propaganda is built into every aspect of education and entertainment; it is so pervasive people don't have a clue they are being manipulated. Just ask any mother or father of three or more children how they are treated in public.

Anecdote: I remember purchasing a set of home medical encyclopedias 40 years ago. In that set I read about how women's anatomy became less sexually satisfying after the birth of more than two children. How on earth did they arrive at the two year number? The answer is obvious: academia decided to discourage births, so they made childbirth the enemy of men.

An important part of self-awareness is discovering WHY we think and feel what we think and feel.

Add in Child care and Medical expenses

One parent stays home and the other one works at a job with benefits.

Drive a used car.

Cook your meals from scratch.

Don't waste your money on drugs and booze.

Buy your clothes at Walmart and Kohls.

It's not rocket surgery.

Well apparently the ChiComs think they’re in a death spiral because they’ve backed off of the One Child Policy and are talking about letting you have three.

I bet in the US The strongest predictor is how seriously Christian they are!

Let me think of my church. Women who were married and are now past repro years - kids who weren’t miscarried or anything

Average 3.0. I was very scientific did the member ship roll and everything!

Married women in my church that have children so far that are still possible for more we have 9 kids for 6 moms bit that number likely to increase some are quite newly wed!

I have to admit that one of the reasons that I don’t have children is the cost and responsibility of raising them. As it is, I have all the free time in the world, and can indulge my hobbies of firearm collecting and world travel. If I had a kid or three...no way.

Many others are happy to have lots of kids, in spite of the sacrifices they make. To each their own.

The most powerful way a man and woman can improve the world is to raise Godly children.

The policy won't really matter. The wealthier a society becomes, the lower the fertility rate. The fertility rates in Africa are the highest in the world. In the wealthy countries, people are living and working longer. China with its 1.60 fertility rate is one of the highest in Asia.

South Korea has a fertility rate of 1.26. North Korea 1.95.

Hong Kong: 1.19

Macau: .95

Taiwan: 1.13

Japan: 1.41

Thailand: 1.52

Singapore: .83

Vietnam: 1.81

Laos: 2.7

Cambodia: 2.52

Indonesia: 2.11

Malaysia: 2.50

The United States is choosing to admit those people both legally - through legal processes - and extra-legally through lax enforcement.

“Do we have a shortage of workers?” In some sectors, we do, although I would argue that this is less because of low birthrates than because of excess schooling and transfer-payments to non-workers.

Anyway, I wrote “IN PART because they do not have sufficient workers ...”. There are other factors, both economic and ideological, that figure in countries’ decisions regarding immigration.

We do not. What we have is a shortage of employers who are willing to pay American rather than Mexican wages for this work.

“It’s not rocket surgery,” is going on my list of must-use phrases, right after, “Go step on a Lego!” which I also heard today.

Will you accept “not the sharpest knife in the chandelier” in exchange?

I disagree. In some sectors, employers are paying far above minimum wage for any employee with a pulse who will show up on time, sober, and not steal. In other sectors, such as heavy equipment mechanics, employers are beginning for trained people of any race, sex, creed, or planetary origin who can pass a drug test.

There ARE labor shortages in our economy, and they are not due solely to wage factors. Many people, if they have a chance to live without working ... endlessly as a “student,” or as a mother on benefits, or off your baby-mamas’ benefits, or on “disability” in your parents’ basement ... will not work, regardless of the wage offered.

The US does not need more high school dropouts and unskilled labor. If there was a true shortage of labor, wages would have gone up, not down or stagnated since 1969. We are importing poverty thru our kinship based immigration system. 20% of the adult legal immigrants lack even a high school degree. More than 50% of immigrant headed households, legal and illegal are on welfare.

That is a ridiculous statement. Almost comical.
