Would you provide a source for “known to be mentally unstable” and for “almost committed.”
I've only seen a speculation regarding “possible PTSD” (which in my professional opinion) is something of a “grab-bag” of symptoms an not usually an indication of “mental instability” and a report of a CRT evaluation clearance.
